About me
My name is Vanessa Boccia.
I got my Interior Design graduation degree in 2009 at IED Design (European Institute of Design) in Milan, where I worked on projects for important companies (Nivea, City of Milan, Arjowiggins, Heineken and Autogrill Italy).
My thesis dealt with the design of an Entertainment Store for Heineken Italia.
In 2009 I completed an internship at the prestigious Duccio Grassi Architects in Reggio Emilia, attending and winning an international competition of interior design/architecture.
In January 2010 I took part in the International competition "Il Mobile Significante" and my project tables were for quite a long time exposed at the Aldo Morelato Foundation.
A few months later I attended and I won the second prize at the International competition of Interior Design "Active Design" for IRIS Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti and Il Resto del Carlino.
The award allowed me to fly to China and visit the 2010 Expo in Shanghai.
From 2010 to 2011, I worked for a firm that structures exhibition spaces designing equipment exhibition stands, events and showrooms.
In 2012 I took part in the International competition "Le 5 stagioni" entering the innovative design of a new pizzeria that in 2015 it was awarded a special mention within the space of Boffi Milano. This project could soon become reality.
I am currently a freelancer: I collaborate with several studies, communication agencies, photography studios and companies including Eurolegnoclima S.r.l. (www.eurolegnoclima.com) that builds residential and commercial wooden prefabs.
I have undertaken the job of home stagers, home relooker and am soon to become a wedding Planner and event organizer.
I have a good knowledge of Microsoft applications, Microsoft Office, Autocad 2d-3d, Rhinoceros, Adobe package, 3ds Max 2013 Archicad and Cinema 4D.
I'm also an Associate member of Aipi Association of Italian interior designers.

F.A.Q.
What is the Interior Design?
Interior design can be compared to a dress that your householders will wear and with which it may appear to others as a real card. It is indeed a private home, a business, a space or a receptive work environment, the project “will wear” all spaces giving particular attention to the practical aspects of daily living and functional. The correct sizing of the furniture, ergonomics, the arrangement of furniture, good quality materials, innovative technologies and well-being of the people living the various environments are just some of the tasks of interior designer.
What's the difference between Interior Design and Home Staging?
The difference is substantial, in the first case the target is to “personalize” the environment based on the needs of those who will go to live, while the target with the home staging is to “depersonalize” creating a blank sheet of paper on which to go to “draw” the needs of the new owners.
Who is the Home Stager?
The Home Stager usually occurs without major renovations, taking advantage of the potential that each property has, masking small or large defects, trying to get a good result. The solutions are simple in reality: the use of light and color, cleanliness, order, the elimination of the elements of personalization of the previous tenant, small restyling as a sofa cover that matches the color of the curtains, combined with a pillow, a fresh flower, in short, everything that can do fall in love at first sight the potential buyer.
Why go to an Home Stager?
To answer these questions with other questions: Do you ever report to a job interview in a suit and sneakers? Would you sell your car without first having washed and perfumed? You'd never be a gift without first having it packed? The goal of home staging is just that: to enhance the property for quick sale at the best conditions without having to lower the sale price that inevitably occurs after a long period of parking on the property market. Just think that some studies have even shown that buying a house is in the first 90 seconds of the visit, so the emotional factor is critical!
Is the Home Staging useful only for homes for sale or rent?
Not at all!
These interventions are also useful for hotels and offices to which you want to give a new image, but without spending big money for the makeover.How much does it cost an intervention of Home Staging?
Let's start by saying that a project and an intervention of Home Staging costs less than the first price reduction that will serve the property being on the market for long periods. Obviously isn't possible to give an exact cost because the customer can decide whether to intervene superficially so as to contain costs or do a deeper makeover. The first consultation at Home Stager is absolutely free, at that time you listen to the needs and demands of the customer/seller of the property, do a tour of the environment, take note and taking some photographs. Following it is drafted a report of Home Staging, which describes the state of affairs, suggestions to improve the appearance of various environments, and the budget of the action needed. The cost of the report of Home Staging may vary approximately from 250 to 500 Euros, depending on the size of the areas to be treated and the customer's requirements.
What's the difference between Home Staging and Home Relooking?
The Home Staging aims to enhance a property for sale or for rent to speed the sale, while the Home Relooking aims to operate a makeover in a space already inhabited improving the appearance, but without spending big money.
Is it possible to have a consultation of Home Relooking at a distance?
Absolutely! The Home Relooking provides 4 steps of planning and 2 of these you can easily do without having examined the environments on which to intervene.
What are the 4 steps of design at Home Relooking?
The 4 steps are:
- BASIC which provides a board dedicated to the emotional concept and a 2D design with the new decor solution;
- EASY laying down a table dedicated to the emotional concept, concept advanced, with the 2D color new decor solution, and a table with the 3D model (neutral color) of the project offered;
- EXECUTIVE provides a technical survey in the desired project and a complete in every detail;
- ALL-INCLUSIVE provides a technical survey in the desired project and a complete in every detail, ready to be made:
1. Table dedicated to the emotional concept and advanced;
2. Table devoted to the illustration of the project;
3. Color floor plan with the new decor solution;
4. Photo-realistic rendering.
5. Supervision of the work of restyling thanks to a specialized team of craftsmen in the industry.What are the steps of a project in Interior Design?
- Contacting and meeting the principal;
- Visit to the future construction site;
- Detection and photographs of the site;
- Develop a project of interior architecture, along with plans, elevations, sections and render;
- Submission of the project to the client;
- Selection and presentation of materials and coordinating colors;
- General description of works and budgeting;
- Coordination with suppliers site visits to verify progress of the works;
- Quality management;
- Choice of furnishings and décor with the client.What furniture styles can I get ideas from?
Here below we will illustrate some of them: Click here

Welcome
Welcome to my website!
Here you will get to know about what I am, what I do and, more importantly, how I do it.
After my high school diploma graduating as a business consultant proficient in foreign languages, I decided to take a different road turning my passion for design and decor into my real profession.
I moved to Milan where I studied Interior Design at IED Design (European Institute of Design) and made my first experiences in this business, creating very important designs, both on my own and working in a team of people.
This experience has allowed me to open my mind, go to important events in this sector, meet wonderful people, and especially to always look ahead. And I'll tell you: it's not that bad!
I love the Shabby and the Country styles, but I love even more modern lines and the color which is, for me, the main element of a project, the real main character that highlights the personality.
Being a curious, nice and caring person with an enormous desire to do things, I have made a job out of my life's passion.
I love traveling and learning about new cultures. On every trip I buy magazines that I accurately collect.
What else? Well, you'll find out the rest when we meet!
Vanessa
